On the occasion of MONUMENTA 2012, Editions Dilecta published the unpublished graphic sketches by Daniel Buren. His plans, drawings and collages to discover the genesis of the project. First ideas, discontinued, until the final work, we follow the evolution, the construction of this facility out of the ordinary. These sketches to understand how the artist took up the challenge by playing the light and colors, transform the space of the Grand Palais.
Confrontation unrivalled in the world, MONUMENTA invites each year an international artist to invest the 13.500 m² and 35 meters in height of the nave of the Grand Palais with a new work, specially designed for this space. Daniel Buren succeeded Anselm Kiefer, Richard Serra, Christian Boltanski and Anish Kapoor.
