Photography
to Frank van Paridon means taking chance seriously.
Paridons'
pictures are all made during travelling. His work pictures everyday life around
the world. Photographs of ordinary moments that, each one of them, are unusually
common. Photographs of people that live their lives; eat, drink, pray and
celebration; their routines and their rituals. In the case of landscape and city
photography Paridon lets light guide him in finding beauty.
His
book NO PARTICULAR WAY TO GO is the result of 25 years of travelling around the
world, a selection of pictures from 50 countries. The book reflects the idea
that the way life is led, and the way the world is travelled, is to a large
extent, a consequence of coincidences.
Magical
images are created because of ones coincidental presence at a certain place, on
a certain day. The quality of the photographer is shown by his constant alertness and the
artistic choices
he makes.
